2023 Hyde Visit
On May 11th, members of the Cupertino Robotics’ FTC and FRC teams visited a local middle school, Hyde Middle School, to share robotics with the students. Middle school students observed the FRC robot drive across the gym and score different elements that were a part of the 2023 FRC game. The students also got the chance to drive around FTC robots from the Cupertino Robotics’ FTC teams and score the cones as done in the 2022 FTC challenge.
Students who attended filled the middle school gym to learn about what the cool robots in the gym were. Through the FTC and FRC demonstrations and the informative posters the students witnessed a small look into how the robotics program functions at Cupertino Robotics. Each student left with a pin and easy access to any future information they would need through the Cupertino Robotics website.
Volunteer Navyaa, from the Cupertino Robotics FRC team, shared how, “It was amazing to see how excited the middle schoolers were to interact with the robot and our team members.” She also noted how, “many of them asked insightful questions,” that she didn’t, “expect about the technical aspects of our robotics.” Collectively, the Cupertino Robotics members at the event hoped to see some of the middle school students in the FLL and FTC teams next year.
