2023 Demo with Daisy Girl Scouts
Recently, volunteers from FTC Team 7610 recently had the opportunity to share their passion for STEM with a group of Daisy Girl Scouts at the Tech Museum. They watched an I-max movie about humanoids in the I-max theater at the Tech Museum. The volunteers then presented the girls with robot parts, explained robot design and CAD, and even allowed them to drive the robot. It was a hands-on experience that encouraged the girls to take an interest in STEM.
FTC Team 7610 member Aashvik Kohli expressed how inspiring it was to see kids take an interest in STEM at a young age, stating "It was great to see kids that have interest in STEM at an age where I didn't even know what stem was". Ira Mathure, another team member, also spoke about how fun the experience was and how it helped them better understand the features of their FTC robot as they had to simplify the terms in order for the kids to understand it. The day ended with the Daisy Girl Scouts being awarded pins for their participation. This was a fantastic way to recognize their enthusiasm and to encourage them to continue exploring STEM.
