On Saturday, January 20th, four FTC teams from Cupertino Robotics went to the Saratoga Public Library. Teams 4950, 7610, 11466, and 13834 showcased as well as demonstrated how their robots worked. Through this event, many children were able to drive around the robots and learn more about FIRST and the annual challenge. Along with that, the FTC teams talked with other teams that attended this event.
This 12-hour event will be a series of concurrent workshops taught by the students of Cupertino Robotics. From editing software such as Photoshop and Squarespace, to cutting edge technology such as Deep Learning, attendees will be taught 21st century skills that they can use for a lifetime.
On Saturday, December the 2nd, Cupertino Robotics hosted our first annual winter social! We had everything from driving robots to a presentation detailing the intricacies of our club to a Wii U station to board games and everything in between. Overall, it was a splendid experience as 200 people comprised of students, family, and friends gathered to celebrate our vibrant robotics community here at Cupertino High.
This year, Cupertino Robotics plans to host its 2nd annual FLL tournament, hosting teams from all around the Cupertino area to compete at Cupertino High School for awards and qualification to higher level FLL competitions. Cupertino Robotic's own three FLL teams will also be participating in this competition, gaining valuable experience to use in two years when they enter the FTC program.
CalGames is an annual offseason robotics competition hosted by Western Regional Robotics Forum based on the previous year's FRC challenge hosted in Evergreen Valley High School. To prepare for the annual spring build season, Cupertino Robotics is competing at CalGames which serves as a valuable opportunity for us to train our incoming members and gain competition experience.
